O.G.T., birth of an innovative treatment

Pharmaceutical research relies frequently on traditional medicine sourcing: more than one out of five products derives from the analysis of natural compound.

Laboratoires Carilene have screened the medical potential of oxidised fatty acids widely recommended by Oriental medicine. As a result of their observation, they formulated a range of original products validated by the French Health Authority and developed a new therapeutic family.

Stephane Desjonqueres founded Laboratoires Carilene in 1982.

O.G.T., birth of an innovative treatment

Laboratoires Carilene produce their oxidised compounds in their industrial site in full compliance with the in-house procedures
of a Quality Assurance System.

Laboratoires Carilene also rely on the input of technical, scientific and regulatory consultants who contribute to the elaboration
of Carilene's products.

O.G.T., industrial reliability

Laboratoires Carilene have mastered the industrial know-how of O.G.T. thanks to a reliable and duplicable physical process corresponding to therapeutic properties.

Such process allows a perfect control of the autocatalytic peroxidation level.

EPR analysis (electronic paramagnetic resonance) demonstrates the absence of stable free radicals in the structure of O.G.T.

The safety and tolerance of O.G.T. have been demonstrated.

O.G.T., a new thérapeutic opening

Based on demonstrated biomechanical properties, topical application of O.G.T. opens up broad-spectrum therapeutic applications.

These biomechanical properties are :

  • moisturizing property
  • improvement of tissue perfusion
  • impregnation of inflamed tissues inducing an anti-inflammatory effect

Topical application of O.G.T. generates a protective lipid film on the skin and/or mucous membranes. Subject to specific formulation and intended use, the following properties have been identified :

  • limitation of transcutaneous water loss (T.W.L.)
  • reinforcement of cutaneous resistance
  • improvement of tissue perfusion

Due to these general physical properties, unrelated to a pharmacological effect, O.G.T. therapeutic action has been evidenced by number of scientific studies.
